The World Said Yes is an original and colorful creation story. It begins in empty, dark space. Then comes light, time, the sea – and “once we were all fish”.
The show provides a grand overview of our planet’s development. It is full of fun details and surprises, but also has a melancholy undertone. Here we get the history of the world told in simple images, from the beginning of time to the ecological crisis of our time. And what happens next – we are never “finished”, there is always something more we can develop or wish for.
Welcome to a visual, colorful and interesting story for both children and adults!
The theatre production had its Norwegian premiere on 28 January 2023 at Lillestrøm Kultursenter and was performed last year in Viken through Teater i barnehagen (theatre in the kindergarden).

Reviews
“This year’s winner is reminiscent of music, in fact of one of the most famous works in music history. It’s the first time I’ve heard an entire work inside while reading a book, and it’s the first time the music is right – in the rhythm of the images, in the rhythm of the text, in the use of color. This is of course just a reference, but it is also a quality. It says something about the winner’s solid composition in terms of language, colors, tone, alternations and the various rhythms a literary work contains at any given time”
Karen Frøsland Nystøyl in the jury’s statement about “Verdens da ja” winning the Critics’ Prize for best book for children and young people in 2018
“A fantastic opportunity for young children to learn about how the Earth was made.”
