The area between Evjekaia and Værstebrua is being developed: In a near future, new homes and urban spaces with commerce, catering and culture will be built here. Did you know that you have a right to state your mind about the plans for the area?

During Kulturnatt (Culture Night) Fredrikstad, Østfold Internasjonale Teater in cooperation with Trosvikstranda utvikling aim to give you a small taste of what Trosvikstranda could be like, while also asking what you think will make Trosvikstranda a better place?

Everyone is welcome to contribute with their proposals for the neighbourhood: Get your ideas visualised by professional illustrators in In Search of Democracy 3.0 or state your mind about the current plans for the aerea through the website trosvikstranda.no.

In addition, you can see an exhibition with illustrated ideas from the residents, take part in drawing a collective mandala yourself, or dance to Norway’s most active big band!

In Search of Democracy 3.0

Let us draw your ideas for Trosvikstranda!

In Search of Democracy 3.0 is an interactive installation by the Dutch company New Heroes. Here, professional illustrators are waiting for you to contribute with your ideas for future’s society: What do you think will make Trosvikstranda a good place to live? After a conversation of 15-20 min, your thoughts will be transformed into an illustration, which becomes part of the interactive installation. The aim of the project is to promote a great diversity of voices. All illustrations will be digitally handed over to Trosvikstranda Utvikling AS and Fredrikstad municipality as inspiration for the future district.

Colletive Mandala

Join us in drawing a giant mandala on Trosvikstranda square! Durga Bishwokarma is a Nepali artist with extensive experience in making collective artworks. After finishing her master’s degree at the Academy of Performing Arts, she is now establishing herself in Fredrikstad. Bishwokarma will establish the framework, but the details of the colorful picture will be shaped by the participants: Everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, is invited to contribute!

Frank Znort Quartet

Concert: From about 16:30, Saturday

The Frank Znort Quartet has played a concert every Sunday since 1998! From 2007, they have entertained the Sunday market by Blå in Oslo. This big band has an impressively broad repertoire and consists of 18 permanent musicians with an ever-increasing number of guest artists!

After the concert, the band moves from Trosvikstranda to Østfold Internasjonale Teater, where the Culture Night continues with KunstFest!
