New production manager at Østfold Internasjonale Teater
Østfold International Theatre is excited to welcome Michael Soós Stave as our new production manager!
Michael grew up in Fredrikstad, and has previously been employed as a producer at Østfold Theatre. In the period 2006 – 2010, he also helped establish the Fredrikstad-based contemporary circus company Last Ink together with Rudi Skotheim Jensen, Lina Killingdalen and Stefan Sóos Stave, which toured Sweden, Belgium and Norway.
Back to the roots
After completing the Master’s programme in International Performing Arts at Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts in 2016, Michael became producer and eventually head of planning at Örebro Theatre (a Swedish “länsteater” similar to the Norwegian regional theatres).
After twelve years abroad, Michael is now looking forward to settling down with his family in Fredrikstad.
-The regional theatre’s role as a cultural hub is very important and I’m looking forward to being part of Østfold International Theatre’s efforts to establish itself as the regional theatre of Østfold,” says Stave:
-“Within the organisation, I’m keen to build good teams and a culture that enables good collaboration, both internally and externally. In particular, I find it motivating to work with the opportunities that lie in international co-operation. I’m really looking forward to starting this work after the summer.
–Fits like a glove
Theatre director Thomas Østgaard says the following about the appointment:
-Michael’s professional expertise, combined with experience from similar institutional theatre, made him a strong candidate for the position. When he can also boast good knowledge of Fredrikstad and Østfold, and at the same time has knowledge of international performing arts, we believe that his profile fits Østfold International Theatre like a glove. We are convinced that he is the right person to help develop the theatre further.
-It is very gratifying to see that Fredrikstad as a cultural centre is attracting competent people with experience from abroad. We’re looking forward to getting to know Michael better after the summer holidays, Østgaard concludes.
Stave will take up the position at the end of July 2024.
