Webinarer om kunst i offentlig rom
Er du nysgjerrig på eller jobber du med kunstneriske uttrykk i offentlig rom? IN SITU er et nettverk av internasjonale programmerere som jobber innunder dette feltet, herunder Østfold Internasjonale Teater.
I en tid hvor det er vanskelig å samle store grupper fysisk, har vi sammen med den franske kunsthøyskolen FAI-AR laget en rekke online-seminarer, webinarer, av og med kuratorer og kunstnere som jobber med kunst i offentlig rom.
Hver tirsdag i perioden 7. april til 5. mai 2020 kl 17:00 kunne du delta på et live webinar med utvalgte kunstnere og utøvere.
5. mai 2020 møter du kurator/produsent James Moore fra Østfold Internasjonale Teater sammen med Alexandros Mistriotis, som samarbeider med ØIT om forestillingen The Reception i Moss (bildet over. Foto: Harald Fossen).
Webinarrekken er en del av onlinekurset Create in public space, produsert av den franske kunsthøyskolen Fai-Ar.

Case study of a site-specific creation: The Reception, Moss
I denne samtalen moderert av Marine Thevenet presenterer Østfold Internasjonale Teaters kurator/produsent James Moore og kunstneren Alexandros Mistriotis sin samarbeidsprosess rundt forestillingen The Reception i Moss.
The Reception er en fire og en halv times kunstnerisk byvandring for opptil 15 deltakere i byen Moss, Norge, først iscenesatt i september 2018. Forestillingen er spesiell på den måten at den ikke inneholder iscenesatte tablåer: Snarere utspilles handlingen i hodet til publikum, mens Mistriotis som bruker selve byen og spesifikke steder for som utgangspunkt for å veve sammen en serie historier, refleksjoner og opplesninger.
The Reception er utviklet på grunnlag av Mistriotis’ arbeid med samme navn i hjembyen Athen, Hellas. Tilrettelegging for en versjon i Moss krevde et tett samarbeid som strakte seg over og mellom fem oppholdsperioder som begynte i juni 2017.
I webinaret diskuterer Moore og Mistriotis konteksten i Moss og Fredrikstad, samt prosess, metodikk og aktiviteter for å engasjere lokale innbyggere i utviklingen av det stedsspesifikke verket.

Public space and politics in Hungary
In Hungary, under the present political regime, if an artist or a festival intends to create in public space, they have to relate to an over-politicized public realm which is one of the most important platforms of the political propaganda of the government. On the other hand, Hungarian operators have to face different obstacles to accessing public spaces.
Fanni Nanáy will give some examples of how Hungarian public spaces have been changing during the past 9 years, in line with the political agenda of the authoritarian government. Together with the artivist Zoltán Várady, she will question the different strategies of artists and cultural professionals to face this reality.

Outdoor arts in the UK : Specificities and challenges
Leaders of Freedom Festival and Norfolk & Norwich Festival came together to talk about their festivals and the history of street arts and outdoor arts in the UK. They focused on how their programmes are shaped by the artists they work with, the cities they call home, and the audiences they attract. In discussion, they considered the challenges of the future including audience development, diversity and difference, and environmental change.
