Welcome to a colorful and fun activity during World Children’s Day in Fredrikstad in May! Together with artist Durga Bishwokarma we’ll create a big and beautiful mandala on the ground, using only chalk and our imagination.

A mandala is a pattern that starts in the centre, and then grows outwards like a flower. We will draw it together, step by step – and everyone can join in! There are no mistakes, just shapes, colors and fun collaboration.

Come join us in creating a colorful, collective art work of that celebrates imagination, community and diversity!

About the artist

Durga Bishwokarma is a Nepali artist living in Fredrikstad. She has extensive experience in collective art projects, theater and performance art. After completing her master’s degree at the Academy of Performing Arts, she is now working on various projects in local theater and performance art in Norway. Durga was the artist responsible for the large mandala created on Trosvikstranda during Kulturnatt Fredrikstad in 2022, as part of «Fremtidens Trosvikstranda» (se photos).
