Open audition Østfold

We invite actors from or living in Østfold to an open audition!

The upcoming director of Østfold International Theatre wants to give actors from Østfold the opportunity to present themselves to the theater. We are therefore arranging an open audition on May 10 2025. (Cultural producers working in Østfold are invited as audience, see separate registration below.)

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ACTORS

In order to participate in the audition, you must:

• Have an acting degree from a vocational school or college
  or
• Be able to document at least 3 years of professional experience as an actor

and in addition:

• Be born and/or raised in Østfold
  or
• Have a residential address in Østfold

HOW DOES THE AUDITION WORK?

Each participant has two minutes at their disposal. Entrance and exit are in addition (two actors can go together and do a dialog and thus get a total of four minutes).

Everyone must perform a text or song of their choice. If you wish to perform both spoken text and song, both are included in the allotted time.

The theater will provide a piano and a speaker/standard mini-jack for playing music from your own mobile. Any accompanist must be provided by the participant.

The event extends over a whole day, but all participants will be assigned their own attendance time in advance. You should expect to spend approx. 1 hour at Østfold Internasjonale Teater.

Please fill out the application form below to participate. We ask that you attach an updated CV with a portrait photo, maximum one A4 page.

The CV should show your relevant education and a relevant extract of your work experience.
Remember to include dates/periods for all experience.

NB! It must be clear in your CV what constitutes professional work assignments. Tours or courses do not count as work assignments. Tours in connection with courses are stated as such, and not as work assignments.

The portrait photo must be taken frontally and be of recent date, i.e. representative of how you look now.

SELECTION

If end up having more applicants than available places, the selection will be made by Erik SEger Schøyen and Kari Jenseg, head of Norwegian Actors Association’s Krets Sør. Places will be confirmed April 25.

DO YOU WANT TO BE AN AUDIENCE MEMBER?

Are you hiring or engaging actors? Open audition is only open to an industry audience. We invite directors, casting directors, producers, film directors, dramaturgs and actors who direct and produce themselves!

To be able to participate as an audience member, you must employ/engage actors in your work.

There will be plenty of breaks during the day and lunch, coffee/tea and fruit will be served.
