New technical manager at ØIT
Lars August Østerlie is the new technical manager at Østfold Internasjonale Teater.
Lars August comes from a position at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet. He has been employed there since 2007, mainly as a stage technician, but also as technical coordinator in the commercial department; stage manager at Scene 2 and on the Main Stage; AGV technician; and team leader in the stage department. Prior to this, he worked as a lighting technician locally in Moss.
– For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in the performing arts. First as an amateur performer in my youth, but gradually I was drawn to lighting and stage technology. I decided quite early on that I wanted to make a career out of technology. It was the excitement, nerves, and focus surrounding the performance that drove my career choice, says Østerlie, who is looking forward to his new everyday life:
– What I’m most looking forward to is getting to know the performing arts community in Østfold better. I’m from Moss, so this will be like coming home again. It’s also a position with quite a few areas of responsibility, so I’ll get to know many new people throughout the county, he says.
Østerlie will be taking up the position from September 1st 2025.
